Istrian Malvasia is a grape variety from the remarkably diverse Malvasia family, present throughout the Mediterranean but with its origins in Greece. Thanks to the efforts of winemakers along the northern Adriatic coast, Istrian Malvasia is the best known Malvasia in the world. In the Karst region, Malvasia shares the crown with Vitovska as the queen of white grape varieties.
