We produce this wine from 2004, the first harvest of our merlot vineyards planted in 2001 in Sant’Andrea, grafted with our 90 old vines from the same village.
Vineyard: Sant’Andrea, Lucinico and Podsabotin on gravel, clay and clayey marl
Grapes: Merlot (2001)
Fermentation of grape musts: 28 days with the skins in big Slavonian oak vat
Aging: big slavonian oak barrels and smaller french oak tonneaux and barriques for minimum 24 months and steel tank.
Bottling: by free fall with no filtration and no additives
Colour: Intense red ruby
Scent: Intense and complex notes of small red fruits, spices, underbrush and red flowers
Taste: Fresh, full-bodied, pleasantly rustic, enveloping and with a long persistence
Pairing with food: Risotto with Meat, Ham and salami, Pasta Bolognese, Red Meat Stew, Roasted and Grilled Meat
