Wine region: Vipava Valley
Variety: 50% pinot gris, 25% sauvignon blanc, 25% chardonnay
Wine is smooth, fresh, medium bodied, fruity. Notes of ripe apple, vanilla, bread crust. The wine combines Pinot gris’ and Sauvignon’ freshness with chardonnay body. Oak acts as spice and is not intertwined with buttery notes usually expected in oak barrel aged wine. Hence the name Nostra – a combination od our varieties and freshness characteristic for our wines.
First half of fermentation in stainless steel tank, second half in a new Slavonian oak barrique barrel (30 % new). 6 months of active batonaging.
Paring with food: Recommended with all spicy seafood, pastas and risottos, also well with white meat.
