Wine region: Styria
Variety: 100 % souvigniergris
Maceration: 10 days in tubs
Maturation: 1 year in a new acacia barrel
The vineyard is 5 years old and is located in the Breg microlocation. The vineyard was not sprayed. We picked the grapes late and macerated them in tubs for 10 days, during which spontaneous fermentation occurred. After pressing, the fermentation took place to the end in a new acacia barrel. This was followed by lying on the lees, mixing the lees and filling after one year.
The wine is reminiscent of pinot gris due to its strong orange color with a hint of copper. The smell is characteristic, which can be attributed to the maturation in an acacia barrel. Fruitiness, spiciness, floral notes and honey – all this is even more emphasized in the taste. The wine is characterized by a pronounced minerality and, due to its lively acidity and unobtrusive aromatics, it is extremely suitable for gastronomy. It perfectly integrates into a wide range of dishes and enriches gastronomic pleasure tremendously, which is why we filled it under the symbol of the rainbow!
