Product description

Deeper amber color with orange undertones. The flower is pronounced, variegated when ripe. Balsamic notes are dominant, pleasant. Smoke, resin, vanilla. Secondary and tertiary notes are leading. Rebula can do it. Deep and wide. Dry in the mouth, astringent, mushrooms and champignons are also found in the mouth. The taste is persistent, maturation in wood gave a good support. The aftertaste is warm, rich, longer.

Maximilian l is a Rebula aged in oak barrels from the forest of Louis XlV, the Sun King, which was planted in 1660 and felled in 2014. 84 oak barrels were made. The third produced is the one in which Rebula 2018 matured.

Rebula grapes and wine are produced with respect and kindness to nature and tradition. The Grace vineyard is located on the south side, at the foot of the Čaven mountain at an altitude of 350 meters, surrounded by forest. We harvest by hand, with friends, at the beginning of October, when the ribs are ripe. The maceration lasts up to 14 days, until the sugar boils into alcohol, which is how the red wine gets its amber color, like grapes. Then the wine matures for two years in large 2,500-liter barrels and then another two years in bottles. The wine is unfiltered, rich in minerals, with the smell of mother’s nitrogen and all the flowers with which the vineyard is richly endowed.

Pairing with food: venison, mutton, steak.
