The Rhine Riesling vineyard is 35 years old and is located in the magnificent Schlossberg marl area. We macerated part of the grapes in a tub, and the other part in a stainless steel container, where we combined them after a certain time. After spontaneous fermentation, the wine rested on fine lees, and the biological fermentation added special highlights.
The color of the wine is lively greenish-gold tones. The smell is distinctly fruity (apricot, quince and citrus fruits), and the characteristic mineral notes of Rhenish Riesling with hints of lemon balm and mint, even motherwort, can also be detected. The wine opens with every twist and breath. We can say that it is extremely varied – we discover something new every time. The fruitiness is even more emphasized in the taste, and the herbal notes provide a good amount of spiciness to this wine. Because it does not have an excessive alcohol content, it is medium-bodied, but at the same time it is a fresh, lively acid, juicy and full-bodied wine that calls out to be paired with a wide selection of dishes from both local and international cuisine.
