Vitovska Škerk

Vitovska of Škerk winery is a very expressive wine, which tells the characteristics of the land and the vintage in which it was born. Daughter of a karst terrain, on the one hand rocky, arid, swept by the bora, and the other rich in limestone and iron, caressed by the sea wind, contains a rocky minerality and a freshness saline that are really unique.

Its winery is the one of Škerk family, located in an extreme and fascinating area of Italy, the Karst region, on the border between Italy and Slovenia. This wine comes from a heroic viticulture and exclusively from native grapes of Vitovska, cultivated in Prepotto, without any use of chemicals. The philosophy of Skerk is visible from the color in the glass: a pale turbid yellow that testifies the refusal of filtration, a typical density of pulped white. Without compromise and without “accessories”, it spreads on the palate with never predictable notes.

Born from the karst oenology traditions, Vitovska is aged in barrels at a controlled temperature, before being bottled. Vitovska of Skerk winery is a wine of character, with decisive and vibrant hues.

The nose is fragrant and charming with vegetal notes, eucalyptol, linden flowers, beeswax and green tea leaf. In the mouth is waxy, full-bodied, intense.

Pairing with food: pasta, shellfish, mature and hard cheese, lean fish, cheese and salumi, mushrooms based dishes.
