Wine region: Goriška Brda
The wine is a vibrant ruby color with carmine hues. The bouquet is complex, mostly fruity, but also grassy and with a touch of warm spices. In the mouth it is rich, of medium strength, in a nice balance of acid and alcohol, and of extremely refined tannins. Perceptions of fresh small black and red fruit stand out, and partly also raspberry jam, but the sweet notes are short-lived, as they are quickly overpowered by the orchestra of spices, in which red pepper plays the main role. The aftertaste is long, mineral (salty) and pleasantly tannic.
Don Erzetič is a wine that goes well with grilled meat or spicy sauces such as chili con carne. It goes well with burgers, as well as former cart dishes such as goulash, roasted liver, tripe and various sausages, even lightly smoked. We also recommend it with strong dishes with legumes, whether they are accompanied by dry ribs or not. Excellent at room temperature (16 – 18 ° C), and a degree more does not harm it.
