Mlečnik

Mlečnik organic farm is siruated on the western edge of the Vipava Valley. On the nine hectares of vineyards on hills planted with varieties such as Chardonnay, Rebula, Tocai Friulano, Malvasia, Pinela and Merlot, they cultivate 12 thousand bottles of wine on average. The grapes for the wines originate exclusively from their own production and are produced in accordance with the rules for organic farming, because the entire farm has been included in the certified organic production since 2005. The entire process from production to bottling is always subordinate to the respect for natural processes, which means that authentic, natural wine is always the result of human culture and understanding of life. Lately, white wines that have been produced in such manner have been named “orange” wines and Valter Mlečnik believes that production of such wine is the renaissance in white wine production, which used to be something self-evident until the period of modern viticulture and modern oenology.
