History:

As wine producers we are on the market with our brand marketing since 1989, when we started bottling wine. In 1991 we enlarged the cellar carved into the limestone, where our wines mature. In 2004 we opened the tasting room, which can accommodate up to 45 people for wine tasting and goodness of local cuisine

Farm today:

The farm covers an estate of 30 hectares, 7 of which are vineyards, which includes around 30,000 screws. The vines are 70% Refosco, from which wine Teran is produced, the 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Merlot and 5% Chardonnay. The remainder is Malvazija and the autochthonous grapevine Vitovska Grganja.

Karst, land of Terana:

The Slovenian Karst region is located in the southwestern part of Slovenia and stretches from Komenski (lower) Karst in the north to Divača in the south and the Gulf of Trža in the southwest.

The Karst wine-growing region is sandwiched between the Gulf of Trieste, the slopes of the Vipava Valley and the Brkinski hills. The entire karst territory belongs to the Mediterranean area and extends at an altitude of 200-300 m above sea level. The special nature of the karst landscape comes from its geological and climatic characteristics.

Time has gifted this plateau with a characteristic karst surface, sinkholes and bays where vineyards can be seen. This is the homeland of the Terran. The relatively heavy, clayey soil of terra rossa and the warm and dry climate, with plenty of sun and wind, create the relationship that only in this area does the Refošk variety produce our well-known terrane.

The wine-growing region of Primorska is extremely suitable for terana cultivation due to its ideal climatic conditions. This variety is grown according to the old classic method. Maceration takes place for eight days or more by hand dipping the hat. The wine is aged in large wooden barrels.
