Winery Žorž 1696
The growing and production of wine have been present in the Žorž family from Slap since 1696 and they are a reminder of their tradition, nowadays supported by the modern touch in the art of wine making.
The key to exquisite wines and success lies in the accomplished vision and common work of the Žorž generations. In recent years, the wine making part has been already passed to the youngest generation who seeks new opportunities in the combination of their professional knowledge and the experience of their fathers. In the year of 2015, cellar Žorž became also biological, which proves that we are following the newest and the best trends in wine producing.
With a production of wine extending on an area of nearly 12 hectars, the Žorž farm is one of the largest in the Vipava Valley. Žorž vineyards are sowed with red grapes varieties, such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Barbera, as well as white grape varieties Pinot Gris, Sauvignon, Muscat Blanc and we are also very proud to have our local indigenous varieties ZELEN and PINELA.
