Distillery Skordijska

The distillery is located in the village of Karan, located between Požega and Užice, a famous fruit-growing region with a tradition of producing plum brandy, as well as other fruit spirits. Numerous fruit orchards are an excellent condition, which is enhanced by the knowledge of their staff – fruit technologists and plant protection engineers, who take care of the selection, processing, as well as the protection and quality control of raw materials.

The name of the brandy comes from the Celtic tribe Scordisci, who lived in this region. Many sources claim that it was the Celts who invented the oak barrel.

Skordisci were a Celtic tribe, whose culture and traditions represent a mixture of Greek, Illyrian and Celtic heritage. They were known as brave soldiers and participated in many wars against the Romans!
