Product description

Boris’s tip: Same story like Merlot. 2015 and still young baby.

Intense and dense ruby color, through which purple shades barely penetrate. The nose is dominated by the perception of flint and graphite, in which the aromas of blackcurrants, overripe cherries and plums have been caught, while the hereditary characteristics of (white) sauvignon are revealed by paprika. The complexity of the wine is expressed even more in the taste, which preserves the freshness of the red Karst wines, interwoven with a sophisticated network of tannins, which ensure proper drinkability and longevity at the same time. The harvest takes place only when the grapes are fully ripe and carefully selecting berries and bunches, to give life to a concentrated, balanced and long-lived wine.

We are advocates of sustainable development; therefore all Derenda’s varieties of single vineyard wines are considered biologically grown. Not only grape harvesting but every single task in vineyards is done by hand and respectfully. The vines get their strength from the incredibly mineral-rich and unique red loamy soil called “Terra Rossa”, characteristic only for percolating and sun-kissed Karst.

One bottle of wine is made from only one grapevine. The wines have rounded fruitiness and softness of tannins and they may have a long life ahead, but still retain youth and freshness. They are characterized by fullness and pleasantness, which is achieved at low alcohol levels.

Pairing with food: It goes well with beef and game dishes, goulash and stews.
