It shows deeper golden colour due to grape maturity and bottle ageing. When swirling viscosity is revealed. Medium intense, less ripe, less honeyed than in previous vintages. Ripe peaches and apricots are first sensations, with some noble rot notes adding to complexity. Linden flowers, gooseberry, pineapple, as well as honey are noticed
Dry on the palate, fuller body is well supported with good acidity levels. Vertical! Intense character is layered expressing plenty of taste and finesse. Far from opulence with very long, inviting finish. Stylistically this is much more restrained than predecessors, showing much more definition. Simply the best “M” to date. To lay-​down.

2018 was marked by huge downy mildew pressure in June, followed by a period of warm and dry weather in July and August. Rain in early September rushed winegrowers to pick early ripening varieties quickly while late-​ripening varieties enjoyed a nice warm Indian summer. Wines of 2018 vintage in our winery are marked by low to moderate alcohol levels, vibrant acidities and clear, defined varietal characteristics. A classic Styrian vintage.

Pairing with food: Try with moulded cheeses, intense rich foods of white meats, grilled fish. Serve at 8 – 10 °C, slightly above usual.
