The Dario Princic winery is located north of Gorizia, just a stone’s throw from the Slovenian border, and is made up of 10 hectares of steep vineyards in clay and sandstone soils that are cultivated using the principles of organic agriculture.
Prinčič Trebež is natural orange wine made with a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio and Sauvignon Blanc varieties, which come from plots of 60-year-old vines that grow in clay-calcareous soils. The musts of each variety ferment separately and spontaneously. The musts remain in contact with the grape skins during maceration, which lasts between 8 days for the Pinot Grigio, and up to 22 days for the Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc varieties. The wine ages for 24 months in oak barrels. It is bottled without filtering.
Dark amber in colour, the wine is full bodied with serious texture and autumnal earthy notes of chestnut, caramel and honey and a long mineral finish.
