“When I took over the management of the farm years ago, I simultaneously made the decision to do everything in my power to raise the level of quality as high as possible. To achieve the goal, I invested in technology and knowledge, but above all, I listened to my instinct, which it also reflects through the character of our wines. Good wine can be made with the help of a textbook, but great wine requires heart and soul.

No matter how we look at it, nothing good comes about by itself, neither does good wine. For a great wine, the winemaker must establish a special bond and love for this work. In our vineyards, we grow 65% white and 35% red grapes. We are most proud of Malvasia N°1, which was chosen by the Japanese ambassador for the protocol wine of the Japanese embassy, ​​and Barbera, which was chosen in 2014 as the protocol wine of the municipality of Ajdovščina. In addition to white and red wine, we are also known for our excellent, multiple award-winning rosés from the Merlot variety. The range of white and red still wines is complemented by two sparkling wines, rose and malvasia.

OUR STORY
Where did it all begin?
Our winery is now managed by the third generation of experienced winemakers. From the humble beginnings, where I helped my father with work in the vineyard and the cellar, and the times when wine was produced primarily based on quantity – in the past we had about 8,000 liters of wine, which was quite a lot for those times, we later focused on quality, development and many improvements..

Cellar development
We developed the winery in stages, which always stemmed from innovative ideas, the production of perfect wines, and the desire for a better experience for our customers when drinking wine and visiting the winery.

Production of premium wines
The production of top wines requires continuous investment, monitoring and adaptation. We have always been focused on technological perfection and development within the capabilities of our own resources. Many innovative ideas motivate us for the future.

Wine offer in the San Mártin winery
With 14 hectares of vineyards and an annual production of 80,000 liters of wine, we are among the medium-sized producers in the Vipava Valley.

A few words about Brje
Due to its sunny location and idyllic climate, Brje in Vipava is dotted with many vineyards and orchards, which offer visitors many attractive corners for taking pictures. They are a place with a long tradition of fruit growing and viticulture, as evidenced by one of the oldest viticulture societies in Slovenia.
