Wine region: Slovenian Istria
Traditionally, summers in Istria are very hot. Since our ancestors did not have chilled cellars, they therefore had to find alternative ways to maintain the wine. One of the methods was maceration, which enriches the wine with tannins – tannins are natural preservatives – which protect the wine. We went back to this old method of growing Malvasia and enriched it with our expertise by bringing the expression of our territory into a jar. In this orange wine you will find everything from soil, sun and a grower – a winemaker – who wants to squeeze only the best and most energetic grapes into your glass. This is also the reason why we do not produce Malvasia maceration every year, but only when the year is the best and it gives us healthy grapes full of minerals, sun and taste.
