Product description

Wine description: Diaphanous red-pink in appearance. A fragrant nose invites with hints of strawberry, morello cherry and a touch of dark roast coffee. Lovely, juicy red berry fruit follows on the palate with sleek, graceful tannins and a fine finish. There’s real Pinot Noir expression here with great purity and elegance.

Traditionally produced, Marjan Simčič’s Pinot Noir cru Selection is the most elegant red wine, drinkable in all its stages of development. Exceptionally balanced and pleasantly soft, with a full body and a long finish with a pleasant cherry stone aftertaste. Pinot Noir lovers describe it as a white wine in red. Some even claim that it deserves the title of the friendliest wine, as it goes perfectly with many dishes. It can be combined with easily prepared red meat dishes. It is excellent with meaty fish, such as salmon, shark, swordfish, tuna and sea bass fillets enriched with herbs. The wine can be aged for up to ten years. The wide wealth of aromas and the distinctly elegant body structure will only gain in refined elegance during maturation.

Harvest: hand-harvested bunches carefully selected – in the middle of September
Vinification: Spontaneous fermentation in contact with skins of berries (maceration) for 12 days in stainless steel tanks (fermenter); Softly pressed
with pneumatic pressure.
Maturation: 11 months in conical-shaped big oak barrels and 12 months in classic barrique barrels
Bottling: 7.333 bottles 0,75 l in August 2025, without cleaning and filtration

Serving temperature: 18 °C

Food pairing: Combine it with simple red meat dishes or venison. It is excellent with mushroom dishes or with matured mountain cheeses.
