Ivanov Refošk Bordon

This Refošk is dedicated to Ivan, the brand creator. The first private owner in Slovenian Istria to bottle wine under his own brand Bordon, one of the first in Slovenia at the time. This Refošk is produced only in exceptional vintages, in the best micro-locations. Before being processed, the grapes go through manual selection. The grapes are macerated in Slovenian oak tonneaux by hand-pressing the cap and because some grapes are allso overripe and in some cases already raisined, this process takes over a month. Once fermentation is complete, the grapes are pressed and racked into oak barrels of different sizes, some of it in new barriques, so that everything is nicely integrated.

Appearance: The wine boasts a deep ruby ​​color, indicating its fullness and maturity. In the glass, it forms beautifully colored legs, indicating good structure.

Smell: The intense aroma of black fruit, spices and subtle woody notes takes us into the complex world of this wine. We also notice delicate floral tones that add an additional dimension.

Taste: A rich and full flavor of black currant, cherry and spices develops on the tongue, which beautifully intertwine with delicate tannins and fresh acidity. The wine leaves a long and pleasant aftertaste.

Conclusion: The Ivanov Refošk 2018 Bordon 0.75 l wine is an extremely complex wine that will delight lovers of Refošk and all lovers of quality red wines.

Serving temperature is 18-20°C.
