Wine of intense ruby color with purple hues. The edges on the rim of the glass indicate a medium body and predict a drinkable wine. The flower is pleasant and reminds us of small forest fruits, especially blackberries, as well as red currants, which are joined in the next moment by balsamic notes of mint and eucalyptus. Spices are heard from the background, especially green pepper, and a strong mineral base is also indicated. Harmonious on the palate, with very subdued tannins, but still fresh.
Pairing with food: Merlot Kristalvin is a good accompaniment to dishes with tomato sauce, grilled poultry, lamb on a spit, “fifth quarter” dishes (rumps, liver, kidneys), as well as stews with freshwater fish and medium-ripened hard cheeses.
