Benedetič

The Benedetič Farm lies on the edge of Goriška Brda, right next to the border with the Italian Collio wine-growing area, where the hills of Brda become slightly lower. The winegrowing and winemaking knowledge have been transferred from generation to generation since 1923, when Keber Valentin and his son-in-law Benedetič Andrej bought two hectares of the vineyard called Brgalotišče from Count Teuffenbach. The vineyard was named after big rocks or “balote” as the locals from Brda would call them, which lay between the trellises. The following generations managed the farm with care and increased its surfaces, so that today the farm boasts ten hectares of vineyards planted in the best locations.
